Merriwa’s Annual Awards night is a significant event on the Merriwa calendar where we recognise and celebrate the achievements of our team.
Everyday at Merriwa, across all of our divisions, our people achieve great things – whether that be learning a new skill on a production line, taking on a new role, supporting a team mate when things get tough, or bringing joy and happiness to our workplace; all of these things don’t go unseen and in the process, team members of Merriwa are nominated by their peers for their achievements and contributions.
While Merriwa’s Awards Night was hosted at a smaller capacity this year due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration was still held with Service Award recipients from 2020 and 2021 and for finalists of the Achievement Awards, with the event live streamed via Facebook.
The following team members were recipients of the 2021 Achievement Awards as nominated by their peers:
- Ray Byrne Award for Quality: Michelle Nicholls
- Hugh Elford Award for Excellence: Eril Edwards
- Jack Lyle Award for Achievement: Alison Holmes
- Mare Saunders Award for Enterprise: Jason Hocking
- Graham Gales Award for Endeavour: Paul Crush
- Award for Safety: Sheree Willoughby
- Ruth Belan Award for Developing Young People (MCS): Carmel Kimball
A special announcement was made on the night for the Developing Young People Award, which was new in 2021. This award was formally named the Ruth Belan Award for her outstanding contributions to Merriwa Community Services, recognising the incredible work Ruth does (and continues to do) for the young people in our care.
Congratulations to all of the award recipients and service award recipients on these incredible achievements!
