Kynan Twomey began working in the Production Team at Park Lane Nursery in November 2020 following a covid-interrupted work experience. We are proud to say he has flourished in his transition from school to work life and now works two days at Parklane and one day at Plant 2 Merriwa Industries, Greta Rd, in the Packaging Division.
Living out of town, Kynan is an inspiration to everyone by riding his electric bike to and from work, most days, with his family supporting him on rainy days.
To continue to develop his learning beyond school and into his new workplace, Merriwa Industries is supporting Kynan with the provision of a Certificate 1 in General Education (Introductory). This will be conducted on-site at Merriwa, two hours per week and integrate his learning with his workplace.
Kynan is looking forward to the opportunity and says, “it will be interesting…and will be new ground to see”. Good luck Kynan exploring something new at Merriwa!
Kyle Margat is also on a learning journey at Merriwa, recently joining the Park Lane Nursery Production Team for a 5-week Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) placement. Kyle attends the Wangaratta District Specialist School and is in Year 11. Kyle has been a vibrant and friendly face in the team and has been working alongside various staff learning a range of different tasks in Production at the nursery.
