Child, youth and family services
Merriwa’s Community Services team provides out-of-home care to young people with disability in our community. The young people in our care are some of the most vulnerable people in our community and are unable to stay at home or with their family.
We provide a safe, caring and stable environment to allow young people with disability to learn, grow in confidence and feel empowered to move successfully into the future.
We work with the Department of Family, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) to identify young people with disability who require support and work together to ensure we can provide a pathway to independence and engagement in the community.

This ensures the protection of all children and young people who come under our care.
When we talk about our commitment to keeping children safe, we will be clear and transparent. We will talk about this commitment on our website and in our reports.
As part of this commitment, we will update our child protection policies on our website. These updates include making the language clear, concise and easier to understand.
We will also make our policies accessible. This includes making sure all people can use our policies. We will also ensure making a complaint is accessible and inclusive.
